If your business is going to succeed, you will need Jira, and you will need Salesforce. You really do!

Let’s face it, running a successful and profitable business is hard at any time, but during a pandemic lockdown and post-pandemic, it is doubly so. Your company’s products need to be up-to-date and relevant, marketing updated and managed, supply chains maintained, costs controlled, sales actively pursued, leads nurtured, customer issues followed upon, and that is just the beginning.

There is good news, yes. There are many tools that a business can use to manage product development and plenty for driving sales and customer relations. None are as widely used together as Atlassian’s Jira and Salesforce. There is just one caveat, good luck making these great tools talk to each other. Without effective integration, your business could end up with many duplicate records, wrong information, miscommunication, cats and dogs living together, and loss of revenues.

The even better news is that there are solutions already created, so there is no need to spend a fortune recreating the wheel. The Atlassian and Salesforce marketplace sites offer a few. Some tools can bridge the gap easily, and others want you to conform to their mold. I would like to share some information about one of my favorite tools. Goldfinger Holdings makes it, and it’s called “Salesforce Integration Plugin for Jira,” but it also works with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and SugarCRM. It’s not the only tool, but in my experience is the easiest to install and the most capable of this kind. I chose it because even though it did not have many installations, it did have excellent reviews, a true hidden gem with more than a decade of development. They have a generous 30-day trial. You could request a trial extension if you need more time, get a full version, and the support staff is very accomodating. The plugin works out of the box, and, of course, you can customize it endlessly, depending on your needs. https://www.goldfingersoftware.com

My use case: my customers submit tech support tickets in our portal, which uses Jira as a backend. Using the plugin, we synchronize and share details from these Jira tickets into Salesforce cases, giving our sales and account teams better situational awareness for customer accounts. Jira, in conjunction with Salesforce, facilitated by the Goldfinger Holdings Salesforce Integration Plugin for Jira, has helped with ensuring customer satisfaction and identifying cross-selling and upselling opportunities.

In conclusion, business is complicated and more challenging than it has to be when disparate systems don’t share data consistently. Be aware that many tools promise simplicity, but many fall short on performance or try to shape your organization into its mold. My recommendation is to use Jira and Salesforce to manage the complexities of business and gain control over your business future.
